Briefly.
F.H. King is a student organization at UW-Madison that focuses on sustainable agriculture.
In Case You Want More.
F.H. King is made up of a community of students who enjoy food: growing, creating and sharing it with one another.
F.H. King is made of people who are interested in sustainability and expanding their knowledge of the subject.
F.H. King is a community of people who love to learn and experience sustainable agriculture first hand through workshops, internships and seminars on everything from cheese-making to composting to beekeeping.
According to one director, “F.H. King is a venue for our student community as well as the overall Madison community to discover how agriculture and sustainability can converge and find a flexible, yet solid balance. It is a place to continue and sustain an ever more important dialogue amongst our community, based on the recognition of the connection between the land around us and the food that we eat. “
And Then There’s The Blogger.
Although I hope to connect directors, interns and those who attend our events, there is a person behind all the blogging. My name is Lauren Wells, a senior here at the UW. I am majoring in Community and Environmental Sociology, or Rural Sociology, for those of you (like me) who are still holding onto the old name.
Currently, my passions include gardening, cooking and baking my brains out, Dharma & Greg, my dog Raleigh, preparing for the Crazylegs run and photography of all kinds. I hope you enjoy the blog!
